Louis, fondly known as Lou, was born to David and Ida Grossman, on April 19, 1941, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Lou graduated from East High and then spent his working years at Wolfe’s Sporting Goods.
It was on a blind date in the summer of 1969 that he met his wife, Anne Silver. They were married on February 8, 1970 and just celebrated their 55th Wedding anniversary.
Throughout his life, Lou was an avid bowler, Utah Jazz fan, Utah football fan, skier, fisherman, and golfer. He cherished spending time with his parents and took an active role in assisting them, particularly in their final years. He especially enjoyed grabbing a bite to eat with his dad, Dave—giving them both a chance to stay out of Ida’s hair. Even after his parents passed, Lou remained a pillar of support for family and friends in need, always offering a helping hand and a friendly visit. He also found great joy in his coffee group, cherishing the camaraderie of good friends. Although he didn’t always have a lot to say, he had a big presence.
Above all, he cherished time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren, who affectionately called him Papa.
Lou is survived by his wife, Anne; their children Deana Skalny (Mark) & Nate Grossman (Maurena); and 4 grandchildren, Sam, Zemi, Ryan & Dylan; his siblings Marty Grossman & Barbara Ohail (John); and beloved cousins.
A celebration of Lou’s life will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at Cottonwood Creek Assisted Living.
The Family Celebration of Life from 3:00 - 4:00 pm. Informal open house for his community from 4:00 - 5:30 pm.
In his final months, we were deeply grateful for the love and support of family, friends, and the compassionate caregivers at Cottonwood Creek and Inspiration Hospice.
