Loy Coburn Rasmuson

Loy Coburn Rasmuson died on November 6, 2024. She was born on September 12, 1934, in Thatcher, Idaho to Cecil Lawrence Coburn and Mary Alice Coburn. She married Dean Walter Van Roosendaal, later divorced. Married David Wayne Rasmuson 1960. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving in the primary organization while raising her children. Loy worked for the U.S. Small Business Administration as an Economic Development Specialist and volunteered as a SCORE counselor after she retired.

Loy was the oldest of eleven children, Enid, Lenore, Bruce, Paul, Pauline, Clyde, Allene, Sheldon, Shelly and Nathan. Loy spent most of her childhood in Preston, Idaho. She loved her time growing up with her siblings and remained close to them until her death.

Loy was a wonderful mother to 5 lucky children. Her family was important, and she loved spending time with them. She made holidays fun and would have her family get together to celebrate her birthday and Christmas every year. Loy had many hobbies. She loved to bake, garden, crochet, sew and golf, but most of all she loved to play games. Loy loved to travel, dine out, shop and go to the Utah Jazz games where she had season tickets.

Loy is survived by her son Steven (Terri) Van Roosendaal, Mona, UT, Lynn (Lisa) Van Roosendaal, Cedar Hills, UT, Susan (Chet) Peterson, Richfield, UT, Michael (Stacey) Rasmuson, Park City, UT, Scott (Teresa) Rasmuson, South Jordan, UT. Nineteen grandkids and nineteen great grandkids.

She is preceded in death by her husband David, grandson Jordan Van Roosendaal, brothers Paul Coburn, Clyde Coburn, Sheldon Coburn and sisters Enid Christensen and Lenore Mott.

An afternoon viewing for Loy will be held Monday, November 11, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah 84106. A funeral service will occur Monday, November 11, 2024 at 1:00 PM, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah 84106. An interment will occur Monday, November 11, 2024 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah 84106.
