Marcia Jane Samuelsen Johnson

1936 ~ 2011

Marcia “Jane” Samuelsen Johnson, 74, of Holladay Utah, died Jan. 16, 2011, at Intermountain Health Center. Born Feb. 6, 1936, in Aberdeen, SD., Jane was the daughter of Clarinda Ohman and David A. Samuelsen. The sixth child in a family nine, she married Herald O. Johnson, who survives.

Jane graduated from East High in 1954, attended the University of Utah. Jane married Herald Johnson on December 29, 1961 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Elko, NV and recently celebrated their 49th anniversary. Jane was a devoted mother who raised two sons and doted on grandchildren, enjoyed playing the piano by ear, and had a remarkable memory for dates, places and events.

Jane was preceded in death by parents David A. and Clarinda Ohman Samuelsen, her oldest brother Roger, her brother and sister in law James and Shirley Samuelsen, her brothers in law Van Smith and John Summers and most recently, her brother David R. Samuelsen.

Jane is survived by her husband Herald Johnson of Holladay, UT; Son and daughter in law Jeff and Lorrie Johnson (Harrisville, UT) and their children Ben and Tyler Johnson; son David Johnson of Olympia, WA; as well as her brother Jerry (Renee) Samuelsen ; sisters Ann Smith, Virginia (Dennis) Pearce, Barbara Peterson, Sandy Summers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
