Mark Fietkau Evans, beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, returned to his Heavenly Father on May 5, 2015, after winning his long battle with numerous health issues, including Graves' disease, esophageal varices, portopulmonary hypertension, type I diabetes, and osteoporosis.
Mark was born in Murray, Utah, August 2, 1972, the fourth of nine children of Val G Evans and Joyce B. Evans. He grew up in Sandy, Utah.
Mark was sealed for eternity to the love of his life, Trisha Stewart, July 17, 1997 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they bore two amazing sons, Jarod and Justin, who are the light of Mark's life.
Mark attended Alta High School, Salt Lake Community College, and ITT Technical Institute. By profession he was a licensed master electrician.
Mark was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served faithfully in his home ward. He is a devoted disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ, without guile, virtuous, filled with integrity, lived life to the fullest, compassionate, forgiving, empathetic. He never criticized or found fault in others. Despite his health challenges, he endured with cheerful countenance and amazing attitude to the end.
Mark loved to watch his sons compete in sports including cross-country/track, soccer, and jiu-jitsu. He loved all types of firearms and outdoor activities and was a member of the National Rifle Association. A faithful patriot, he enjoyed studying and discussing the United States Constitution. He loved hardy laughter and teasing his siblings, nieces, and nephews to no end. He loved the thrill of scaring his neighbors, friends, and family on Halloween. He was a handy-man, always willing to serve and help others.
