Mary Ann Winters Stringfellow, aged 85, passed away peacefully on April 01, 2026. She was born on May 16, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Elwood and Elizabeth Bennett Winters. She was a resident of Bountiful, Utah. She attended Ensign Elementary, Bryant Jr. High, West High School (class of 1959), and Henager’s Secretarial School.
She married Wendell Blair Stringfellow on September 2, 1960, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mary Ann and Wendell had three wonderful sons who they raised in Bountiful, Utah. She will always be remembered as being kind, gentle, and caring while raising her three rambunctious boys.
Mary Ann was grateful for all her opportunities to serve the Lord in the Bountiful 24th Ward. She served as a Counselor in the Relief Society, a Mia Maid teacher, a Sunbeam teacher (which she loved), and 16 years as the Compassionate Service Leader.
Mary Ann could always be found executing selfless acts of kindness. She often made quilts to deliver to the Homeless shelter and volunteered at the Utah Food Bank. She made food to help neighbors and often visited ward members. Her influence led to her husband and three boys shoveling others’ driveways, helping elderly neighbors with yard work, tree pruning, sprinklers, and anything else they might need.
Mary Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Wendell; parents and five siblings and in-laws; Rosella (Nick), Dick (Mary), Jane (Paul), Nellie (Noel), and John. She is survived by her children Scott (Julie), Matt, Mike (Priscilla), 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing on Thursday, April, 16th from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Bountiful LDS Chapel (720 East 550 North). We will celebrate and honor Mary Ann’s life at her funeral on April 16th at 11:00 am immediately following the viewing.
