

Nedra was born to John and Emma Reeves on August 24, 1932 in Venice Utah. She had one older sister. She was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the age of eight, and was an active member all of her life.
Nedra met her dear husband, Ray, in Venice Utah on a blind date while he was attending the University of Utah and she was a senior in high school They were married in the Mesa Temple on April 17, 1951 and honeymooned on Catalina Island in California.
Ray and Nedra have five married children, Janet (Steve) Witt, Draper, UT; JoAnn (Bruce) Rosa, Oceanside, CA; Bill (Gleny) Stott, Irvine, CA; Doug (Sandra) Stott, Algonquin, IL and Julie (Rick) Melfe, Meridian, ID. They are proud of their children and love them dearly. They have 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren who they love very much.
Nedra has served faithfully in the Church as Stake and Ward Relief Society President, teacher in Primary, Sunday School and Young Women, and an Ordinance Worker in the Chicago temple. While she enjoyed all of her callings, perhaps her favorites were serving in the Relief Society.
Nedra loves art, and worked for many years as an assistant to Tom Lynch, a watercolor artist. She is an avid reader, loves cats, and is a strong supporter of the Jazz basketball. She has gone to many games, and never misses one when televised. Nedra also loves to sing, and has sung with small groups and many choirs. She also won a battle with cancer in early 2000.
Nedra was preceded in death by her husband Ray, her father and mother, her sister, Barbara Henrie, and a grandson, Richard Ray Melfe.
Nedra was a gentle woman whose testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ was seen in how she lived her life of service.
A viewing will be on Friday, March 26th from 5 to 7:00 pm at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 27 at 9:00 am at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary. We thank Jacque and Naomi with Lighten Home Health & Hospice for their attentive care.
