Phillip Arthur Snell, Jr. passed away on May 17, 2016, at the VA Hospital in Salt Lake City. He was born on August 29, 1936, to Phillip Arthur Snell and Vera Langford Snell, and graduated from Davis High School.
Phil was a graduate of the University of Utah, earning two Bachelor's Degrees and an MBA. He served as an officer in the U.S. Navy during the Cold War. He married Janice Stahl in the Salt Lake Temple on May 29, 1963. They raised two children, Ann (Dave) Nuttall, Michael Snell, and a wonderful addition to their family, Casey Bright. Phil was an active member of the LDS Church, having served faithfully in many callings. His favorite calling was being a Home Teacher. He was an Eagle Scout.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved sister, Rose Anne (Bennett) Peterson.
A viewing will be held Friday, May 20th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., followed by a graveside service on Saturday, May 21st, at noon. Both will be held at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Dr., SLC.
