I remember  one opening morning deer hunting over on the west mountains, we were all  there (the deer hunt was always a big family outing for the Millers) it had been a slow opening so we all met up and we were 
having a bean which is a can of chili on the fire. We started rolling rocks down the draws, gradually getting bigger and bigger.  We found one that we thought we could get to roll. The kids were digging and uncle Ray was the first adult to help and join in, then dad (Leon) then Lewis, the rock was bigger than we had ever thought, it was the side of a Scout.  We eventually got it to roll down the draw. It went blowing cedar trees up into splinters and pine trees just the same! Down in the bottom running like crazy was some cows and calfs.  We had woken up the elk from their nap! That’s one of the best times! I love you uncle Ray and you will be missed and now you are reunited with family that has gone before you! I’m sure they were waiting with arms open.

I have  a lot of wonderful memories of my uncle Ray I think that the one that stays with me the most is when we  We’re kids we made him take us haunted  House hunting  My older brothers Roger and Darwin  and I’m pretty sure uncle Gregg was with us , I was always a tag alone but because I was the first girl born in the family sense my mother my uncles put up with me a lot in fact they spoiled me 🥰 Oh how I love  all of my wonderful  uncles and Aunts !  Uncle Ray  fly high and know we love you , thank you for the memories 🙏

I remember Uncle Ray as a soft-spoken and very fun person. My earliest memory of him was when he took me and my siblings to see "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" at the Movie Theater in Murray, and then taking us for Pizza Hut afterwards. He loved cheese pizza just as much as we did! 

Listening to the "when we were growing up" stories of Uncle Ray, my father Gregg, and Uncle Lewis were hilarious. Those 3 younger siblings sure ruled the roost in Manti as far as shenanigans and mischief. 

I remember your love of animals, all animals. You showed a genuine caring spirit that the animals could sense. And you loved your family just as much also. Your kind spirit showed with your love and support of your huge family.

I have many memories of Uncle Ray.  One memory is one that Uncle Ray told me many times.  I was about  2 years old and my parents had recently moved to Salt Lake, Uncle Ray came and lived with us for a while.  I loved him and waited for him each day to come home after work.  Uncle Ray had a mouth bridge (teeth) and at night he would take it out and leave it on his headboard.  More than once it would go missing and it was always found in my mouth.  

I went on a trip with him once to Colorado and I remember riding in the back of his Volkswagen Bug.  He had the radio on and was just singing along with the biggest smile on his face.  He made sure I had lots of yummy snacks for the ride too.  It was great fun!

I will miss his jolly laugh and bright smile.  And his eyes, his eyes would sparkle when he smiled.  He was always kind and loving and willing to talk to me from the time I was a little girl to after I was married with my own family.  Ray took the time to listen and was truly interested in what was going on in my life.  He had a way of making me feel special and loved.

I will miss him, I hope I never forget the sound of his laugh or that twinkle in his eye.  Robin .... thank you for loving Uncle Ray and making him so happy.  I hope you may feel peace in knowing you will see him again someday.

I have so many wonderful memories of Uncle Ray. One of my first memories occurred when I was eight years old, on my baptism day. Mom and Dad were hosting dinner for family at our home and I remember Uncle Ray disappeared after dinner for a while and returned with hot apple turnovers he had bought for me. 

Each Christmas the kids always looked forward to the special Christmas gifts from Uncle Ray. One year I received a shotgun cleaning kit and another year some camouflage clothing...I still use the cleaning kit and my children wore the camouflage  and my grandchildren will too. He never missed a birthday. We always received a card and a gift on our special day. 

My fondest memories with Uncle Ray occurred in the fields hunting geese. I was blessed to spend time outside of Manti hunting geese. Sometimes my father joined us and one or both of my boys always joined us. We all have memories of Uncle Ray turning a flock of geese towards us with his calls and then watching in awe as he out shot all of us...he was the most skilled marksman I ever knew. 

One goose hunt we walked to a fence row to sit with our backs to a fence post. As we went to sit down, a herd of five or six horses started trotting towards us (on the other side of the fence.) They all went to Uncle Ray who was sitting down and trying to hide from the geese. I heard Uncle Ray say, "Shooo!"  to the horses, but they did not leave. I looked over to see one horse nibbling on Uncle Ray's hat and Uncle Ray stroking the face of another horse. (No wonder they didn't "shoo"!) 

Uncle Ray is a gentle soul with a kind and loving heart. I will miss him for a while, but look forward to that great day when I will be with him again. 

Robin, may you find peace, especially during the times you may feel extra lonely or afraid. Your Ray will always be mindful of you, and don't forget your extended family that will continue to love you and help you.

I will miss you Ray.  I always enjoyed talking with you at the family parties talking  about old times.  I remember going on a double date one time when we were in high school.  I was so sad when I heard of your passing.

Ray was loved by our family, he was a treasured brother and uncle.  He was a delight to be around because of his cheery laugh and sweet smile, everyone was always comfortable around him because of his concern for others.  Ray being from a large family of nine always had time for his brothers especially when it came to do with anything mechanical.  His greatest love other than  his love for Robin was his never ending love for geese and the goose hunt each year, that should have been a national holiday according to Ray. Ray will always hold a special spot in our heart. We love you Ray.  

Ray was a great neighbor, always willing to help:  solved small engine problems,  kept an eye on our house when we were out of town, retrieved packages and  newspapers, and was always good for a neighborly visit.  My gosh, sometimes he even shoveled our driveway!  After 30 years, we are really going to miss our friend and neighbor.  Our hearts are with Robin and his family at this time. 

He always loved being around his grandkids.  He  would light up when he saw them!
