becca Jo Colby11/28/78-5/4/14Rebecca Jo Colby lived her life without holding back and died of natural causes marching forward to tackle another day. Now in her Heavenly Father's embrace as her body simply and suddenly stopped.With infectious playfulness and youthful energy she dedicated her heart to the love and protection of animals. Rebecca gave all she had and more to anyone in need. She was a member of the Highland Park Ward & Stake and loved doing Temple service.Rebecca loved flag & country serving briefly at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. Uncle Sam released her on a medical discharge after which she sustained a near-fatal accident. She had worked for Convergys & attended SUU.A true creative, Rebecca sang, played piano & percussion, performed Shakespeare and freelanced with a local acting company. She memorized movie dialogue by age 7. Rebecca is preceded in death by her mini-dog Chewbacca (Chewy) and will be missed by her loving parents Orrin T. Jr. & JoAnn J. Colby. Rebecca is also survived by siblings-Orrin & Lori Colby, Melene & Mark Ralph, Brenda & David Alder, Eric & Andrea Colby, Jesse Colby & Jeff Rose, Diana & Joshua Bateman and Natalie Colby-13 nieces and nephews and her cat Boo.Please donate to the Humane Society of Utah (no-kill shelter) in lieu of flowers.Viewings Mon., May 12, 6-8 pm and Tues. 10 am.
