

1927~2011
Our loving and caring husband, grandfather and brother, Reed Sahlberg Schultz, 83, passed away on January 7, 2011 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on December 16, 1927, in Bingham Canyon, Utah, to Pearl Sahlberg and Marlin Reed Schultz. He was married to Kay Francis Rampton for 58 years.
Reed was a veteran of WWII, Korean and Vietnam wars. He served honorably and retired as a U.S. Army Infantry Lieutenant Colonel in 1975. He saw more than seven years of overseas service for his country and later served as Manager of Health Auxiliary Services for the College of Health at the University of Utah.
He is survived by his wife, Kay; son, William Rampton (Anna) Schultz; daughter, Kellie Schultz (Robert) Wood; granddaughters, Amie (Chris) Marcotte, Nina Schultz and Olivia Wood; brother, Russell S. (Carrie) Schultz of Chandler, AZ, as well as many other loving family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Marlin S. Schultz.
Military graveside services for Reed will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah. A celebration of his life will be held following the services. In lieu of flowers, Reed’s wishes were to have new or used books donated to a veteran’s hospital near you.
