Reed Dale Sieverts, 82, died at his home in Park City, Utah on May 18, 2018; after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in S.L.C., Utah on October 13, 1935, to John and Wilhelmina Sieverts. He graduated from South High and served an LDS mission in the Netherlands. He married Mavis Greenwood in the Salt Lake Temple and together they raised seven children. Dad loved the outdoors and took his family camping, fishing, and hunting often. He loved photography and had a great eye for composition. He was a creative problem solver and could build anything with his hands. He always paid attention to the details in whatever he made and exhibited excellent craftsmanship. He started his own successful heating and air-conditioning business which his son continues to operate today. Dad built a home in Snyderville, Utah where there was room for the family and the horses. Despite the ravages of nature on his physical body, Dads strong spirit, intellect and keen mind remained intact until the very end. This was a tender mercy to all who shared in this difficult chapter of his eternal progression. He taught us the value of hard work. If a job wasn't worth doing the right way, it wasn't worth doing. As the cancer progressed so did he. He did not complain about the work of bearing pain, but he frequently expressed gratitude for Jesus Christ, the One who bore all pain. Dad's last work gave him many opportunities to express his love for his sweetheart, family, and friends, and he showed us once again that a job well done is worth the effort. Sincere thanks to the Angels from Applegate Hospice.
Reed is survived by his wife, Mavis, his children Robin (Scott) Evans, Quinn (Tamara) Sieverts, Jess (Cari) Sieverts, Piper (Joseph) Webb, Nanine (Brad) Allen, Cherise (Seth) Bailey, Cody (Ashley) Sieverts, his siblings Jean (Larry) Jensen, Carolyn Sieverts, David (Carol) Sieverts, 32 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
