Somehow, I think he would like the fact that every year when we are watching the fireworks go off with a bang, we will remember him while having a good time and being together with family and friends. Richard was born in the Muskogee, Oklahoma home that he was raised in until age 7 when the family moved to Salt Lake City. In the Millcreek area he met several life long friends including his wife to be, Beverely Jo. At age 17 he joined the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He attended Granite High School. He served in the Air Force as an Air policeman during the Korean conflict and returned home marrying Beverely Jo on November 10, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised four children in Holladay. Richards's primary employment was with the Newspaper Agency Corporation as a pressman and in the color department for 45 years. Dad worked countless other jobs from shining shoes to roofing. He knew how to work hard and play hard. He loved golf, snow and water skiing, motorcycles and being active outdoors. He kept a beautiful yard. Dad cared for people and served them whenever he could. In his church he served in callings including scouts, teacher, Counselor in the Stake Presidency, Bishop, Missionary in the singles ward and at the Conference Center. He loved and studied the gospel and set a beautiful example for his family. Dad you're our inspiration.
