Suni Rae Rudd-Sherman

Infant Suni Rae Rudd-Sherman passed away on Monday May 15, 2023, at 9:28 p.m. at Lone Peak Hospital in Draper, Utah. She was born to parents Ric and Mandie Sherman weighing 3 pounds 1 ounce and 15 inches long. Suni died of placental compromise at 34 weeks and 4 days gestation.

Suni’s life was longed for and succeeded after many years of prayers, tears, waiting, and fertility treatments.

Suni is survived by her parents, Ric and Mandie Sherman and big brother, Hawke Kai Sherman; grandparents, Richard and Joni Sherman and David and Aimee Rudd; many great aunts, uncles, cousins; and gestational carrier, Rachel Webb.

Suni Rae has given her family a new reason to live and celebrate life. Suni’s name is a culmination of importance to her family: Suni being her Japanese name, honoring her ancestry; Rae, after her gestational carrier, Rachel; Rudd, after her Mother’s maiden name; and Sherman, for her father and family surname.

Suni will be laid to rest at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary on Sunday, May 21, 2023, in an intimate ceremony with her parents and big brother.
