Born on July 11, 1946, Susan Evans Child peacefully passed away on November 20, 2024, surrounded by family. Raised by her devoted parents, Frank and Norma Evans, alongside her siblings Craig and Marsha, Su embraced the values of hard work and the importance of family from an early age.
Su attended Highland High School and later pursued her studies at Utah State University, where she met the love of her life, Dave Child. They married on January 11, 1966, and together they built a beautiful family, welcoming three children: Marc, Tiffany, and Matt. As her children married, she loved and treated their spouses as her own.
Su’s family continued to grow with the addition of 12 wonderful grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, soon to be 6, they were her greatest joy and she cherished every moment spent creating memories together. From lively family gatherings and trips to Oregon, to beach walks and magical grandparent adventures at Disneyland, Su was the heart of her family, always encouraging and supporting everyone’s achievements while instilling cherished traditions along the way.
Su had a deep affection for all animals, particularly dogs, and used them to spread joy through animal therapy. She always made time to listen and be there for others. A gifted seamstress and quilter, Su found joy in her creative pursuits, including making beautiful jewelry that she loved to share with others. An extraordinary cook, she was particularly renowned for her famous fudge. Anyone who stepped into her home was greeted with a warm embrace and made to feel like part of the family. Su fostered a welcoming atmosphere and could often be seen tending to her immaculate yard, creating a beautiful and inviting space for everyone.
Su will be remembered for her love, strength, generosity, finding the beauty and good in others and making a difference to all who knew her.
