

Travis Alan Winn passed away quietly on April 6, 2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born October 15, 1936 in Nephi, Utah, to Claudia Humphrey and John Cooper Winn. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Travis is survived by wife Lillian Winn, children Kelly Winn, John Winn, Lori Eastin, and Lisa Winn, Sisters Toni Ostler, Anita Nicholson, and Kathy Lawrence, brothers Gary Callaway and John Richard Winn, grandchildren Nicole, Rachel, James, Codi, Mackenzie, Tayler, Ciara, and Danika, and great-grandchild Margaret. Travis was preceded in death by son Michael Alan Winn.
Travis was an accomplished artist and his art brought beauty into the world. He worked his career as a commercial artist, but spent his free time pursuing his passions for knives and mountain-man re-enactment. His mountain-man name was “Many Knives”. He was an accomplished and respected custom knifemaker, and applied his artistic skills to embellish his and others’ knives with exceptional engraving and scrimshaw.
