

Wilma was born on June 11, 1929, at home in Highgrove, California, to James Edward Brown and Inez Pauline Turner Brown. She was the youngest of five Children: Ed, Jean, Bud, and Margie.
Alongside her mother Inez, Wilma worked in the orange-packing industry a grader in Riverside, California. On July 2, 1950, she married Philip Earl Stainbrook in Las Vegas, Nevada. They began their life in Pedley, California, before moving to Rialto, California, in 1958, where Wilma lived for 67 years.
For more than 20 years, Wilma worked as a waitress at the Regina Restaurant in Etiwanda, California, a well-loved establishment known for its Italian cuisine. Throughout her life, Wilma was generous with her time and resources and found great joy in serving others.
She was an active member of the Emblem club, a sister organization to the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, dedicated to community service, supporting veterans, the visually impaired, youth programs, literacy, Americanism, and scholarships. Wilma also volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House in Loma Linda, California.
Wilma was an avid roller skater, tap dancer, and especially enjoyed swing dancing with her husband, Phil.
Wilma was richly blessed with 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly and cherished time with.
She is survived by her three children: Larry Stainbrook, Janet Stainbrook Sheldon, and Greg Stainbrook(Julie). Wilma was preceded in death by her parents James Brown and Inez Turner; her siblings Ed Brown, Jean Brown Powell, Bud Brown, and Margie Brown Gould; her husband Phil Stainbrook; one grandchild, Lauren Stainbrook; and one great-grandchild, Harvey Beckstead.
Funeral Services will be held at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah on January 17, 2026 at 10:00 am with a viewing beforehand at 9:00 am. Interment and a graveside service will be at Green Acres Memorial Park & Mortuary, 11715 Cedar Ave., Bloomington, California. Date and time TBD.
