Alice was a longtime resident of Flushing, New York, and later settled in Bay Terrace. She was born in Yonkers, New York, and was lovingly raised by her parents, Frank and Peggy Ratajczak. Alice worked for Stroheim & Romann as a customer service specialist, she took great pride in helping others and truly loved what she did.
Though she lived a simple life, Alice lived it fully and unapologetically. She was never afraid to be herself and was misunderstood by many. Alice lived in her Queens apartment since 1992 and cherished every part of it. She enjoyed watching her favorite soap operas, spending time watching the shows she loved, and soaking in all that the comforts of her community had to offer. She especially enjoyed socializing with the friends she made with the local pharmacist and super market staff which were a huge support for her every day life.
Above all else, Alice adored her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy, and her love for them knew no bounds.
Alice will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Jennifer DeRosa, son-in-law Alex DeRosa and her grandchildren, Christopher and Samantha. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Alice.
