Carolyn M. McGowan

Carolyn shared a beautiful life with her devoted husband, Robert, with whom she celebrated 57 years of marriage. Together, they built a family filled with love and cherished memories. She is survived by her daughters, Christine (Christopher Hussey) and Kimberly (Jason Roff), and her adored grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Thomas Von Werne), Thomas Hussey, Zachary Roff, and Elizabeth Roff.

She is also survived by her beloved sisters, Patricia Hawker (Carlis Hawker) and Linda Ribaudo, and a large extended family including her nieces and nephews: Melissa (Michael Romano), Matthew Hawker (Eric Andersson), Gabriela Ribaudo, Ryan, Kevin, Brian, Tim, and Patrick McGowan. Carolyn was predeceased by her niece Julia McGowan. Her great-nephews Aidan and Anthony Romano, as well as her many cousins, will also remember her fondly.

Carolyn was a dedicated and talented senior typist, known for her meticulous work and professionalism. Outside of her career, she found joy in life’s adventures, whether traveling, camping, or embarking on cruises. She was a spirited card player who loved Rummikub and bingo and had a penchant for shopping and occasional gambling. Carolyn cherished her Leisure Glen Community and Sun Valley family, where she made many lifelong friends.

A devoted animal lover, she shared her home with her beloved pets, including Lola, who preceded her in death, and Milo, who remains a cherished companion.

Carolyn will be remembered for her kindness, vivacity, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Visitation for Carolyn will be held at O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, 1001 Route 25A, Miller Place, NY 11764 on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM & 7:00 - 9:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at 10:30 AM at St. Mark's R.C. Church, Shoreham, NY.
