Catherine Elizabeth Monahan

Catherine was born on February 18, 1926, in New York, NY, daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Gajewski) Cominsky. She was 1944 graduate of Walton High School, Bronx, NY. On November 1, 1947, Catherine was married to William E. Monahan at St. Valentine Catholic Church, Bronx, NY. William preceded her in death on August 12, 1993. The couple celebrated 45 years of marriage. In 1948, the couple moved to Manitowoc where Catherine lived until the time of her death. She was a past member of St. Paul Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella and a current member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. She was a past auxiliary member of the B.P.O. Elks Manitowoc Lodge #687. In the past, Catherine was active with the Girl Scouts.

Survivors include her family members in New York. She was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph and Catherine Cominsky; her husband: William E. Monahan and various other family members

A memorial funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at River's Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, 960 S. Rapids, Road, Manitowoc. Rev. Richard Klingeisen will officiate.

Funeral arrangements were handled in NY by the O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, 1001 Route 25A, Miller Place, NY 11764. Visitation Monday January 9, 2012 at10 AM to 12 PM. Funeral service 12 PM Monday at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, NY.
