Our earth angel called home March 17, 2025.
Bold, beautiful, brave, brilliant and beloved. Her heart and love leave a legacy.
Geraldine Ann (Gajewski) Grieger was born in Queens, NY on May 9th. She grew up on Long Island ("Lawng Island" as she'd pronounce it) in Centereach NY. Gerri was raised by her loving parents Joseph R. Gajewski and Lucielle A. (Kuveikis) Gajewski. She was a dear sister to her siblings Joseph, Dale, Jacqueline, Richard and brother in-law, Paul Grieger.
Of all her accolades and titles, Geraldine's greatest passion, accomplishment, pride and joy was being a mother, grandmother ("GG'), best friend and a rock for her children, Leanne Pietrusko-Grieger (Mike Pietrusko), Steven Grieger (Melissa Knapp), Lisa Grieger (James Butcher) and granddaughter, Liliana Marie Pietrusko.
Geraldine was passionate about animals and adored her own as her second children. She was the best dog mom to McKayla, a rescue, whom she would call "Miss Lady". A certified emotional support dog, McKayla's role in Gerri's life gave new meaning to the sentiment "who rescued who?"

Gerri was known to others as a neighbor, special needs worker, a real estate agent, a dance mom, an advocate for those in need and most importantly, a true friend to anyone with whom she crossed paths. She stood strong in her beliefs and valued faith, family and kindness. Geraldine was selflessness personified. Her smile and warmth made her a safe space that others would gravitate toward. It was as if a spotlight would shine on her in any room she would enter. She put others, especially family before herself and found purpose in giving back and paying it forward. Even in her passing, Gerri insisted on being a support for others. Through the Gift Of Life Donor Program, she was able to donate vital organs which would save and give others a second chance at life.
"Find a way, make a way" was a frequent mantra she used to preserver in times of grief and in times of growth. She fiercely encouraged others to live authentically and fully. Gerri lived to uplift her children, her family and everyone and anyone she could possibly reach. Of all her beliefs and values, Geraldine spoke and embodied the sentiment; "You're all the family you will ever have" and reminded us the power of forgiveness, unity and unconditional love.
She leaves a legacy and a love that changed the lives of everyone lucky enough to know her.
