Born in Brooklyn on August 24, 1951, to Salvator and Marie Liotta, Linda spent most of her formative years on Long Island. She shared a close bond with her younger brother, Michael, and remained deeply connected to her family throughout her life.
Linda held a variety of roles throughout her career, including clerk typist and advocate, and spent several years working in the Longwood School District. It was there she met James Carroll, whom she married in 1979. Together, they raised two children, Jeffrey and Jennifer, and built a life rooted in love, resilience, and dedication.
Linda was a passionate advocate for her daughter Jennifer, who has special needs. She worked tirelessly to ensure Jennifer received the education and childhood she deserved, and extended that same fierce advocacy to support other families navigating similar journeys. Her strength, compassion, and determination left a lasting impact on many.
At home, Linda found joy in the simple pleasures: a house filled with plants and flowers, quiet mornings with a good book, and sharing her love of space and science fiction with her son, Jeffrey. Saturdays were reserved for reading with Jennifer, a tradition they both cherished. Linda also loved puzzles, board games, and cooking, especially when teaching her granddaughter, Catherine, how to make her signature chocolate mousse.
Linda is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, James Carroll; her children, Jeffrey Carroll and Jennifer Carroll; her beloved granddaughter, Catherine “Katie” Fazlulahi; her nephew, Michael Liotta, and his wife, Sarah Liotta.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Linda's life at a visitation on October 11, 2025, from 2:00–4:00 PM and 7:00–9:00 PM at O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, 1001 Route 25A, Miller Place, NY.
Linda’s memory will live on in all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Peace and long life, live long and prosper.
