

Beloved wife of Andrew. Loving mother of Andrew McNerney and his wife Liz, Maureen Robidoux, Sheila Reagan and her husband Sean and Jennifer Schretzmayer and her husband John. Proud grandmother of Emerson, Zoe, and Rayne McNerney, Noah Robidoux, Conor, Eamon, and Sean Reagan, Aidan, Aileen, Caelan, and Andrew Schretzmayer. Adored sister of Anne Walsh and Myles Walsh.
Mary was born at St. Mary's Hospital in Brooklyn, New York and then was raised in the family home in Richmond Hills, Queens, New York. In 1953 she graduated from St. Benedict Joseph's Grammar School, where she skipped two semesters for academic excellence. Upon graduating from Our Lady of Wisdom Academy in 1957, Mary continued on and completed a secretarial course and was certified at Katherine Gibbs in New York City. Mary's career began as a private secretary with Crosley Broadcasting and continued on as an Executive Secretary at Edward Petry Company in New York City.
Mary married Andrew McNerney on September 17, 1960 and they moved to Brooklyn, New York. Andrew and Mary went on to have four children; Andrew, Maureen, Sheila, and Jennifer. After Andrew was born they moved to Whitestone, Queens, New York and moved again after Sheila was born to Shoreham, Long Island, New York where they welcomed Jennifer.
Mary then continued her education at Suffolk Community College where she received her AAS in Business Administration. From there she went to St. Joseph's College and there she received her BS in Business Administration and graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Mary had a successful career in local government proving to be an asset to the Town of Southampton Assessors Office, the Town of Brookhaven Youth Bureau and then retired from the Town of Brookhaven Finance Department in 2004.
Mary traveled extensively with St. Joseph's Alumnae Group, and then with her husband Andrew. Other interests were shopping and socializing with friends.
A visitation for Mary will be held Wednesday, December 26, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, 1001 Route 25A, Miller Place, NY 11764. A funeral mass will take place Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at St. Mark's R.C. Church, 105 Randall Road, Shoreham, NY 11786. Interment will follow Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 12:00 PM at St. Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
