Mary Theresa Schroeder was born on February 28, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York. She received an Associate's Degree for Secretarial Studies. After her marriage to Eugene Reilly, she became a stay-at-home mom. She was very involved in her children's activities and could be seen at almost every basketball game, tennis match, and track meet of theirs. She was also very involved in her church and taught religious education. Mary believed in giving back and quietly donated to numerous charities each month for the past forty years. When her children got older, she became an office manager for Stony Brook State Veterans Home. She is survived by her son, Christopher Reilly (and his wife Michelle Reilly), her daughters, Jean Marie Reilly and Karen Reilly, and five beautiful grandchildren, R.J. Sarah, Brandi, Jessie, and Giselle. In the beautiful words of author and poet, Donna Ashworth, "It is not just your mother who will walk with you in spirit. It is her mother too, and her mother's mother...So when you feel low, lonely or unloved, remember them, feel them. They are with you and they burn brightly...What a beautiful unending legacy."
