

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peter R. Vario, who departed from this world on February 11, 2024. Peter was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend to many. He was predeceased by his daughter Katherine, as well as his siblings Marie Morande, Dominick Vario, and Sally Smith, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy that will forever endure.
Peter is survived by his devoted wife of 28 years, Janet, his loving children Daniel and Jill, and his siblings Joseph Vario, Lorraine Ferrante, and Geraldine DeLorenzo. He also leaves behind his cherished pets Dundee, Mia, and Bella, who brought him immense joy and companionship throughout his life.
Peter's passion for his work as an Operating Engineer was matched only by his creative pursuits. He was a talented artist who crafted exquisite stained glass artwork, some of which he sold and others he generously donated to local churches, leaving behind a lasting impression on his community.
In addition to his artistic endeavors, Peter was an accomplished winemaker, turning his hobby into a celebrated talent. His homemade wines earned him the esteemed title of best homemade wine on Long Island, New York, a testament to his dedication and skill in the craft.
Peter will be remembered not only for his professional achievements and creative talents but also for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family and friends. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A celebration of Peter's life will be held in his honor, where family and friends will come together to commemorate the legacy of a remarkable man who touched the lives of so many. May he rest in peace, knowing that he was cherished and loved beyond measure.
A visitation for Peter will be held Monday, February 19, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Louis de Montfort R.C. Church, 75 New York Avenue, Sound Beach, New York 11789. An interment of cremated remains will occur Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 11:30 AM at St. Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
