Roberta Sands

Roberta was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Sands, the love of her life, with whom she shared 63 joyful years.

A loving mother, Roberta is survived by her devoted children, Russel Sands (Gina) and Sherri Mariani (Frank). She was a cherished grandmother to Michael, Branden, Jacqueline and Brittany who brought her immense pride and joy creating precious memories.

Roberta was a devoted sister to Barrow Marks and was predeceased by her dear sister, Barbara.

After building two successful businesses together Roberta and Joseph embraced an active lifestyle—spending countless days at the fitness center, playing tennis, enjoying mahjong, and traveling the world. Cruises and several memorable trips to Italy with dear friends were among their favorite adventures. They cherished cocktails at sunset, time within the boating community and evenings spent dining out.

In her later years, she found companionship and fulfillment through her involvement at the Rose Caracappa Senior Center in Mt. Sinai, where she remained active and engaged.

Roberta’s memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew her, especially her dear friends Marge and Marilyn. She will be remembered for her warmth, her love of life, and the deep connections she formed with family and friends.

Visitation will be held at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 1001 Route 25A, Miller Place, NY 11764, on February 6, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Entombment will occur at Washington Memorial Park, 855 Canal Road, Mt. Sinai, NY 11766 on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 11:30 AM.
