Shirley leaves behind her beloved husband, Gerard “Jerry,” with whom she shared over 40 years of love and companionship. She is now reunited with her son, Daniel, and her brother, Harlan, who passed before her.
She will be deeply missed by her children and stepchildren: Debra Woods (John), Kimberly Butera, Margie (William), Steven (Sally), and Gerard. Her cherished grandchildren—Lauren, Lynette, Karen, Tammy, Sharon, Johnny, Deana, Kayla, Karina, Courtney, Karisa, and Gerard—will forever hold her memory in their hearts, along with her 10 great-grandchildren and her great-great-grandbaby, Reily.
Shirley dedicated her life to caring for others as an operational nurse at St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson Village, a role she carried out with deep compassion and dedication.
Beyond her career, Shirley found joy in life’s simple pleasures—planting flowers, fishing, and spending peaceful moments at the family cabin upstate with Danny. She cherished time with her family, especially during Sunday barbecues. In her younger years, she enjoyed a white wine spritzer at the yacht club, savoring laughter and good company.
Her warmth, laughter, and unwavering love for her family will never be forgotten. While she may no longer walk beside us, Shirley’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
