     So sorry to hear about Uncle Toms passing. He was one of my fathers best friends for over 50 years. They would talk about sports non-stop. And if it wasn't sports, it was Grumman. The entire Harding family was always lots of fun to be around, never a dull moment. We had many meals at the booth in the kitchen. Uncle Tom & Aunt Eleanor spent countless afternoons/evenings at our house in Setauket for parties.  Subsequently, Uncle Tom & Aunt Mary spent numerous vacations together with my parents in Florida. 
He will be greatly missed.

So, so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. He was a deeply caring and special man. Although I am sure you all know it was his time, it is still a very difficult transition. Our Dearest Thomas We knew that our use by date was running out——so we were very very happy that we made a big trip to N.Y. and we could spend time with our dear friend. We will always remember Church on Sun. and after waiting an hour at Jan’s for breakfast.Our nightly visits to Strawberries our cruises on Ed’s boat and the entertainment after parties at the Watkins Roy playing the piano for George dinner Torcellos once a week not wanting to break the tradition after Eleanor passed. The fun dinners with Uncle Willy and Phoebe and Joe.Eleanor getting that diagnosis after the infamous rash The Daisies because they meant hope the movies on Sat. Night not too happy about the senior discount at first. The retirement that came and lasted longer than expected allowing so many good times. Years passed and along came Mary who we also came to love. We have been granted so many many years of a loving life. We will never forget you OUR forever friend. Please save a place for us. Dear Maureen, Susan, Margaret, Claire (Billy and Tommy) ,

This is just a wee note to say I am so sorry to hear about Uncle Tom. I know his health was not great, and at points he was very ill, but it will still be a tremendous loss and a tough time.
It is amazing how out lives fly by. I still have very vivid memories of the kindness that you guys, Uncle Tom and Aunt Eleanor showed to an awkward teenager from Scotland who rocked up with his perma-tanned singing grandfather in Shoreham in the 1980s "stranger things" time.
May he rest in Gods love.
I can see him pouring a whiskey for Granda Willie, out in the back with Mum at a BBQ and chatting about the Yankees with Dad.

He was a good man. You were lucky to have him and he was lucky to have all you guys.

To All The Harding children, grandchildren and extended family, you lost a very special person, but to the Callery family a very unique friendship. That friendship first sparked on the steps of our next door apartments in Richmond Hill 64 years ago and never faded despite national or international relocations. A simple hot Jewish bagel, on those steps on a Friday night created a bond that was never broken. God rest Tom and his wife Eleanor and our love, friendship and prayers of comfort for his present wife Mary, children, grandchildren and extended family.

Tom was a special, gentle soul who devoted time to St. Mark’s ministries.   He and Mary were my Extraordinary Minister captains and I will miss his smile and humor.   May God welcome him into His loving embrace.

We are all devastated at the loss of Uncle Tom. 

He was fiercely proud of, and clung to his Scottish roots. Remember the traditional Steak Pie at Hogmanay from the Scottish Butcher in Queens. His pride in his heritage extended throughout the whole family. On holiday in NY, Joe and Phoebe were taken in to the ‘Show and Tell’ session at Bryan and Matt’s school. The boys were keen to show off their Scottish family. 

‘Mi casa es su casa’. The warmth and hospitality extended to the entire Scottish family was unconditional; we were immediately welcomed into the house in Shoreham and have spent many happy times there. We have fantastic memories of days at the beach. 

Uncle Tom’s work on the Space Programme gave him a certain aura - especially amongst the younger members of our family. Aiden once asked him “How do you make a lunar module?”, Uncle Tom paused and replied “very carefully.”

Uncle Tom was such a good friend to Joe and Phoebe. They spent many happy holidays together in Scotland, Italy, Ireland, Canada and of course USA. 

We can never emphasise enough the impact Uncle Tom has had on our lives, and we know that the NY - Scottish relationship will last generations thanks to him.
