Prayers for the family of my wonderful friend, Bill the Cop.....
My Sunday + Monday nights will never be the same! Your Poker friends will forever hear your "Doo Wop" songs at the Poker Table! So glad my wife and friends got to meet and hear you singing at the Moose in June. You will be forever singing in our hearts! ("Let's go to the Flop!") Poker day will not be the same anymore without you.  Your favorite hands, “The Police Hand” and your “Birthday Hand” will always fondly remind me of you.  I’ll miss your endless knowledge of songs and artists, how your would serenade us.  But most of all, I’ll miss your generosity, your care and concern for everyone you knew and the love you shared with us for Pat.  Your family was your heart and soul; your loyalty unending.  I am so grateful to have had the chance that fate gave us to be friends.    

I remember Billy when we grew up in Garden City Park. He was a good pal.Played many games of wiffle ball in his driveway using the garage door as the strike zone. 

Now he can play poker with Bill, Bea, Tippy, Edwina, Helen and Tacky. They can always use another player.

Grampie,  no words can describe the loss that I feel without you here. You were the best grandfather a girl could ever have. You loved me unconditionally and took care of me when I needed you. You were always quick to supply a joke and a laugh. Sometimes I start randomly singing a song and I have no idea where it came from in my head until I realize that you would sing it all the time (“Let’s go to the flop, oh baby...”). Spending time with you was always one of my favorite things to do, whether you were here in New York or we were visiting in Florida. I loved when you would stay with us and you would always go to the farm stand and buy a peach pie and put it on the counter and everyone would say “who the heck likes peach pie?” and I would always say “I do Grampie, peaches are my favorite fruit!” and we’d share a slice. Even talking to you on the phone or on FaceTime would bring me a sense of comfort knowing I was still loved from far away and that I would see you soon.  I will love you infinitely and miss you with all my heart. As I go through the rest of my life I will always think of you, remember all of the love we shared, and know that you are watching over me. I hope I make you proud, Grampie. <3 

Dad, life as I know it has been turned upside down since you had to leave. The only comfort I have felt is knowing that you and I never left anything on the table regarding our feelings towards one another. We never spoke without saying “I love you” at the end. Same held true for any voicemail, FaceTime or special occasion cards. One of my favorite things you would say to me was, “thanks for being my son” as you would pat my knee. It always had a calming effect because I truly felt that you were proud of me. I would always reply with “thanks for having me dad.” We would both get a good laugh. In the end, it still feels like it was never enough and I would do anything to have another chance to hear you tell me that again in person. The pain I feel since losing you is so immense. People have told me to remember the good times and to be strong, but the only problem with that is I always shared my good times with you and got my strength from you, dad. You were my one constant I could always count on and I don’t ever recall you letting any of us kids down. We would almost speak daily on my way home and you would always pick up no matter how busy you were playing cards or singing karaoke. You always put your kids first and never forgot to call and sing happy birthday. 
I am going to miss you until my last day on this earth but pray that my son and soon to be daughter will love me at least half as much as I love you. If I can accomplish that, I know that I have done my job as a father. It pains me deeply knowing you will never meet our daughter. I am so proud my son took both our names but I am honored that he took your full name along with grandpa’s. You gave me that comforting tap on the knee again when you first met William and said “that’s pretty cool.” I knew right there that you were so honored. I thank my wife for honoring you in that way. I will love and miss you forever Pops. Please look over us always and Rest In Peace. Dad, thank you for having me as your son.

Remembering you Bill as a young NYCPD Trainee in old  Brooklyn Precinct and again sharing with you  and our brothers at Lodge FOP 45 in Venice Florida .  You   will be missed.   You are  forever in  our prayers .         PO Richard Charron and FOP 45 members.

The Gregorio family was much a part of the Neri Family's life.  My dad (Phil) thought of Billy as a son.  They had so  many laughs.  Work was fun.  In his last days dad talked about the fun times...the stories of a typical day of laughs working together.  
Billy was part of the family......hope that somehow he is able to rekindle the good times with dad 
wherever he might be.  
My condolences to the family!  Family was what Billy lived for....  his first concern always.He loved his boys and felt his daughter was the cement of the family!
Never had a brother...thought of Billy as the closest I got to that!
Love and deepest condolences to all who loved him!
