

Preceded in death by grandson, Jacob Nelson; brothers, Dr. Leroy and Wayne; sisters, Lorraine Thulin and Rona Tipka. Survived by loving wife of 71 years, Beth; sister, Dorothy; sister-in-law, Jeanne Nelson; children, Judy (Les) Liudahl, Bonnie Tell, Michael (Jan), Colleen (Les) Rablin, Craig (Christine), Mark (Rhonda); 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great- grandson.
Born on October 21, 1920 to Carl and Frances Nelson in Meeker Co., MN. Married Beth on December 27, 1941. WWII Naval Veteran. Carleton was the Culligan Man in Virginia, MN. In 1970 Carleton started his 2nd career at JC Penneys (Southdale). He loved gardening. His specialties were marigolds and dahlias which turned his house in Bloomington into a show piece. Carleton was a great man who easily made friends due to his warmth, humor, kindness, outgoing and engaging personality.
Thanks to Dr. Ali and the staff at Fairview Southdale Heart Center. There was joy in heaven when Carleton walked through the gates. It is heaven's gain and our loss. He was loved by many and we will miss him dearly.
Funeral service Thursday, April 26, 10:30 AM at Hillcrest UMC, 9100 Russell Ave S, Bloomington. Visitation 1 hour prior to the service at the church and Wednesday, April 25, 5-8 PM at Werness Brothers Chapel 2300 W Old Shakopee Rd
