Eldon, the eldest of five children, was raised in Pelican Rapids. As a teenager he worked the summers for L.A. Puckett on a traveling carnival. He did this until he graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1952 when he moved to St. Paul and got a job at Northwest Airlines in their printing department. He enjoyed the passes he was able to get for flying and he took advantage of this perk as often as he could. When he married his wife, Dolores, they went to Hawaii.
In 1963 he joined North Central Airlines as a Warranty Administrator and stayed there until NWA bought NCA then started his own company, Midwest Aerospace.
Eldon had many hobbies. He loved fishing, hunting, bowling, traveling, and going up to his cabin as often as possible.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peder and Miranda; brothers, Clayton and Curtis; and sister, Joan.
