Preceded in death by parents and brother, Firmin Janske.
Survived by brother, Leonard Janski; sister, Joan (Jim) Hunter; nieces and nephews.
Fr. Jerry was born on March 19, 1925 and called to build his life for the Lord at a very early age. He attended and graduated from Nazareth Hall Seminary in 1943 and was ordained a priest on June 3, 1950. Father Jerry made a tremendous impact while on earth as pastor at St. Philip, Minneapolis, St. Therese, Deephaven, and St. Michael, Pine Island. He gave great homilies, told wonderful jokes, had compassion for the Polish community, and was known for helping the sick and elderly. Fr. Jerry brought four Sisters from the Franciscan Clarist Congregation in India to teach at St. Therese in 1970 and 1972. He served on the board of directors for A Chance to Grow; an organization that he helped build for disabled children. His love, generosity and smiling face never faded while enjoying what he loved to do in his spare time: golf, travel, the race track, and his home in Sun City, AZ, where he resided after retirement. Fr. Jerry, our love for you will last and last. You will truly be missed.
