He was born in Detroit, MI on March 4, 1943 to Ralph and Lauraine Kirchner. He grew up in South Minneapolis and graduated from U of M with a bachelor's degree in mechanical and metallurgical engineering.
Larry began his work legacy in 1971, and worked in industrial, agricultural and social engineering. He received many awards and commendations over his lengthy career. He was a member and chair of ASME Minnesota.
He was big into hunting, fishing, camping, and was a self-described "Outdoorsman". He had a wonderful sense of humor.
He preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Audrey.
Larry is survived by his brother; sister-in-law; and nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Sunset Kapala Glodek Funeral Home, 2250 St. Anthony Blvd in Minneapolis, MN on Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 10 am -12 noon. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
