Died on December 22, 2017. She went peacefully at home, on her own terms, cared for by her loving husband. She was the daughter of George and Edna Nelson of St. Anthony Park, St. Paul. Jean is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert Mitchell; sister, Joan Schwartz (Steve); brother, Jim Nelson (Mary); sons, Scott and wife Jacquline, Todd and wife Caren; grandchildren, Annie Henriksen, Robert Mitchell, Megan Ruschmeier, Travis Mitchell, John Mitchell, Kathleen Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Avery and Parker Henriksen. She was an accomplished Sumi artist in the sumi style and will be forever remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She cherished her time with her boys and watching her grandchildren grow. Funeral services will be held at St. Anthony Park United Church of Christ, 2129 Commonwealth Ave, St. Paul at 11 AM Friday December 29, 2017. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
