

Age 91 of Spring Park, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on September, 25, 2015 due to complications from Alzheimer's. Mavies had previously resided in the San Diego and Minneapolis areas.
Mavies was born on July 28, 1924 in Esko, Minnesota to Tillie and Alfred Korby, the youngest of their 10 children. After graduating from high school in Esko, Mace went on to school in Duluth and soon found herself working in Minneapolis. Mace and Gil (Ray Gilbertson) were married in June of 1947 and together had one child, Kay Elizabeth. Mace and Gil divorced in 1969.
Mace worked as a legal secretary and her final job was with the county attorney's office at the Hennepin County Courthouse. After retiring, Mace moved to California and she married Robert Krueger in 1983. She and Bob enjoyed their time in California through golfing, dinner parties, and numerous trips. Bob passed away in 2006 and Mace returned to Minnesota in 2009 to be close to her daughter, Kay, and her grandchildren.
Mavies Korby Krueger was preceded in death by her parents, Tillie and Alfred Korby; and all of her 9 siblings, Robert, Emil, Julia Seppala, Helen Nelson, Raymond, Martha Erkkila, Henry, Ernest, and Florence Sarazin. She was additionally preceded in death by both of her husbands, Robert in 2006 and Gil in 2014.
Mavies is survived by her daughter, Kay (Erik) Ostman Saxvik; and her three grandchildren, Aaron Ostman, Alison (Jason) Gdovicak, and Lindsay Ostman. Mavies missed meeting her great-grandchild, Madeline Kay Gdovicak, born September 9, 2015. Mavies is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Other survivors include Bob's daughters and their families, Betsy (David) Palecek, Jean (Lou) Bacig, and Terri (Jim) Munson.
Memorial Service will be Saturday, July 16 at 11am with visitation one hour prior at Lake Minnetonka Shores, 4501 Shoreline Dr., Spring Park, MN. Mavies’ final resting place is Fort Snelling National Cemetery with Bob.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association, The American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Research, or to the Presbyterian Homes where Mavies lived in every area at the Lake Minnetonka Shores location in Spring Park - Independent, Assisted, Memory Care, Transitional Care, the Nursing Home, and finally 2 days in Hospice.
Mavies final resting place will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery with Bob.
