Nancy Mae Kaliher (Kerrott) of Elk River, MN, was born on February 18, 1941. She passed away at home, surrounded by family on January 2nd, 2025, which was the 27th anniversary of her husband's passing.
She was born and raised in Columbia Heights, MN, which is something she took great pride in. Her first job was at Hudson Map Co. in Mpls.
She married the love of her life, Dave Kaliher, on December 2nd, 1961. They had 4 children. She took time off to raise her children before going back to work. She worked at Bob's Produce Ranch in the bakery, Paper Products Plus in Fridley, and Custom Business Forms in NE Mpls.
Family was everything to Nancy, and her 7 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters were her pride and joy. Being a grandma and great-grandma were her favorite roles in life. She would attend all the kids' activities to show her support. Football, basketball, soccer, dance, plays, concerts. Anytime the kids had something going on, she would be there cheering them on with so much pride.
She lived a life of almost 84 years and wanted people to know she didn't want them to be sad about her passing. She had a wonderful life and was looking forward to being reunited with her beloved husband.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dave. Her parents, Clyde and Mae Kerrott. Her brother, Russell Leverentz, and sister Carol (Raymond) Aasen.
She was survived by her children, Kevin (Jill) Kaliher, Kelly (Kevin) Ringey, Heather (Chris) Ecklund, and Heidi Kaliher. Grandchildren, Kyle (Sierra) Ringey, Kirk (Hanna) Ringey, Jessica Kaliher, Kaleb Ringey, Andrew Kaliher, Gunnar Ecklund, and Grace Ecklund. Great-granddaughters, Hadley and Magnolia. Her beloved cat, Kali.
She is so loved and will be missed greatly.
Service at First Lutheran Church in Columbia Heights on Wednesday, January 8th at 11:00 am. with visitation one hour prior (10:00 am). Luncheon at the church after the service. Internment at Sunset Cemetery in St Anthony to follow service and reception at 2:00 pm. Her favorite color was yellow, and she asked that people wear yellow to celebrate her life.
The family would like to thank Accent Care Hospice and Elk River Meals on Wheels for their work and service to help over the past few months.
