Butler, Phillip M. Age 89, of Farmington, MN. After a peaceful morning watching the sunrise and listening to birds, he died at home surrounded in love with his family by his side. Proud Navy Veteran, Tin Can Sailor served in WWII and Korean War. Retiree of Western Airlines (Delta) and US Postal Service.
Preceded in death by parents Sydney and Gladys Butler; brothers LeRoy and Richard.
Survived by loving wife of 66 years Mary Jane Butler, who steadfastly sat by his side throughout his "predicament." Sharing their greatest pastime together, watching the MN Twins! Survived by sons Jeff Butler, Richard (Lana), Joseph (Kerry) David (Lisa); daughters Julie Faulkner (Steve) and Cheryl Butler; grand-children Jack, Audrey (Bobby), Creanna, Ashley, Stephanie, Alexander, Grace, Sydney; aunt Betty Brum; brother-in-law Harold Hansen (Sue); also many, many relatives and friends.
Phil enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and hunting trips, reading, feeding birds and traveling the world with MaryJane. Despite his declining health he continued to live life to the fullest, working on his "Bucket List" traveling to Hawaii to tour the USS Missouri, to Etobon, France to visit his ancestral homeland and Oshkosh, WI to attend his Navy ship reunion. Nothing made this Grandpa prouder than following all the activities and accomplishments of his grandchildren.
