hi nancy i do not if you do not remember me you and use to work heights liquor together a few years ago .i work with your cousin joe helms coke and  i just wanted to say i am sorry to here about your father passing away.mine passed away a couple of years ago so i understand the heart ache that you and your family are dealing with hopefully you read this and some comfort from it if you would like to talk about your fathers passing i am on facebook when you get a chance. again i am sorry .

I never had the pleasure of meeting Roy Iskierka but I feel I know the kind of man he was by the way he raised his son, Roger!  My thoughts and prayers go out to the family during the days and months ahead! I'm sure he will be missed but like my Dad use to tell me, "It's NEVER goodbye it's Until we meet again!" I remember the day my own father passed away. I was helping my mom make some dreaded phone calls and had to call Uncle Roy. I dialed the number and handed the phone to Mom. I think all she said was "Roy", and immediately started crying. I took the phone and talked to Uncle Roy for a good half hour. He was so comforting. He went on and on about how much he liked my dad and what a great friend and great husband and great father he was. I felt somehow that Mom could hear every word Uncle Roy was saying. When I ended the call, Mom was calm and the tears sort of dried up. She said, "Your Uncle is a really nice guy isn't he?"

So sorry for your loss. Roy was a kind and gentle man. I'll miss the waves across our yards and as I drove down the alley.  My thoughts and prayers to the family.

I really appreciate all the help and guidance you gave me in my early years.

My deepest sympathy to all the family. Roy was a sweet, kind man. He is with his lovely wife Delores again having lots of laughs like the always did. Roy will be missed dearly but never forgotten.

Mr. Iskierka was the best neighbor any kid could have! My brothers and I would come over down the alleyway on Ulysses and he'd always have a nice thing to say to us. He was a patient and kind man, and always willing to lend a hand if my mom or dad needed it next door. I will always have fond memories growing up near the Iskierka family.  May these memories of Roy give you comfort as well.

Dad was an amazing man.  He didn't accumulate many things in this world because he wanted to spend his time with people.  We visited our relatives often so we could share a laugh or remember a past event.  Our weekends were filled with hunting trips to his farm homestead in Onamia, MN in the fall, fishing “up north” and several lakes around town in the spring and summer, and snowmobiling in the winter.  His investments of time and patience have developed lasting, precious memories.  He was always there for his kids and grandkids.  He didn't ask why but he helped with whatever he could offer.  

His personality and values significantly influenced the character of his kids and grandkids.  I see these traits in those who were close to Dad.  

God has blessed me abundantly with such a wonderful dad and I know he is in awe right now in heaven as he sees the face of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

My deepest sympathy to the family.  I will always remember Roy and Delores as good friends and neighbors.

My dad lived his life to the fullest.. He is leaving behind his children and grandchildren, brother and sister to be reunited to be my mom's dance partner once again. They met dancing... And they are probably dancing now.  Miss him.. But be happy for him too. He is having a ball with his brothers/sisters that have gone before him.

How fortunate we have all been to have Roy in our lives.  Always warm and welcoming, his was a home filled with love and laughter that everyone would flock to.  He would do anything for anyone, no questions asked, and asked for nothing in return.
Thank you, Father, for the wonderful example you and Mother have set for your children and grandchildren.  You have built a strong, close and loving family that I've been so lucky to be a part of, and we will honor your memory by continuing in your tradition.

Roy is the Nicest Man I Ever Met in my Life,& the Godfather to my Daughter.Will aways miss you & Dee,Uncle All & Aunt Rose.

Dad had many gifts that were appreciated by this daughter-in-law.  He was always ready with a helping hand to repair and remodel the older home where we lived in Bloomington.  I will never forget Dad and Ron digging window wells by hand into the hard clay soil on which our home sat.  Afterward, they figured out how to cut the cement block in the basement to insert the huge picture windows they installed.  That was only one of the many projects he helped with over the years.  Dad was a fabulous handy man and he passed those genes on to his sons and grandchildren.
Dad was ever ready to be babysitter-in-chief for his grandchildren.  When they were young, a trip to stay with Grandma and Grandpa was a treasured outing.  He would alternatively be a horse to ride (sometimes three at once!), a spinner of tales, an instructor of just the right way to bait a hook, or a Pied Piper walking the neighborhood with a dog and many children following along as they checked up on an empty house down the block or a neighbor that might need a hand.  
Dad attended innumerable school programs, church presentations, sporting events and dance recitals.  His pride in and love of his grandchildren was obvious for everyone to see.  Dad's passing will leave a huge hole in the lives of his family, but he left them with something precious to fill that hole – a lifetime of love, laughter, and memories to cherish forever.

My sympathies to my high school classmate Roger and the entire Iskierka family.  So hard to lose a parent.  I've been there.  My heart aches for all of you.  Hold on tight to all those treasured memories.

To my Uncle and Godfather; you were a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and Uncle.  You wore all the hats and wore them well.  You worked hard and left your footprint on so many pathways for your family to follow.  You will truly be missed, but rest now Uncle and be at piece with Aunty Delores. Your brothers & sisters, Mom and Dad are welcoming you with open arms.

It is sad to lose someone you love but the thought that he is with his beautiful wife once again brings a smile to my face!  Thinking of all of you as you go thru this process!!

Grandpa was truly everything a grandfather should be. He did not express his love through grand gestures but steady consistency and day to day sacrifice. He bent over backwards to support his family and his generosity was never ending. I am eternally grateful to have been blessed by this man daily for 22 years. Whether it was the family that he served as a cornerstone or a physical house over my head, Grandpa was and continues to be essential to who I have become. I love you Grandpa.

Grandpa had THE biggest heart. There are not enough words to describe how great he was.  There was never a dull moment when he was in the room. His stories were priceless; he was so proud to share his cherished memories with loved ones. Now we have the blessing of sharing our great memories of him. He was the best grandpa anyone could ask for & will truly be missed. I LOVE YOU GRANDPA!
