

It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Astley de Borde Cooper on October 25th 2025 at age 78. A pillar in the Harrison Hot Springs community, Astley was preceded by his wife, Patricia Cooper, mother and father, Grace and Peter Cooper and sister, Mary Cooper. He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Rebecca Biggar (Justin) and step-children, Justin Nordal (Megan), Jennifer McNeil (Davon), Troy Cooper (Pam decd.) and Deborah Jarman (Mark), as well as, 14 grand children, 5 great-grandchildren and countless cherished friends.
Astley lived a full life of gratitude, generosity and kindness, truly living a life of service and altruism. Some of his accomplishments and experiences include: wrestling team in high school, working for the school board in Quebec as an electrical apprentice, working for the Harrison Hot Springs Hotel as Chief Engineer and later in life as Property Manager, working for Seabird Island as Energy Manager, Chief of the Harrison Hot Spring Volunteer Fire Department, Chief of the North Bend Volunteer Fire Department, Alderman for the Village of Harrison Hot Springs, serving on the Agassiz-Harrison Search and Rescue, Deacon at the Mission Alliance Church, singing in a quartet and choir, entrepreneur, inventor, problem solver and passionate storyteller.
Funeral Service will be held on November 15th at 1:00pm at the Mission Alliance Church located at 34203 Dewdney Trunk Rd with a reception to follow. Astley made connections wherever he went, we welcome all to join the family in celebrating his life.
