Owen grew up in a small village called Belledune, in Northern New Brunswick. As a boy in school one day he saw a picture of the West Coast. He was inspired by the massive trees and mountains and was determined to make his way out west one day.
He made it to British Columbia as a young adult, and went back to school and became a welder. He settled in Surrey in 1978. In 1984 he met Sherry, who had 2 small children. Owen, Sherry, Dylan and Michelle quickly became a family. One of the things the family loved the most was camping, many years of fun adventures and mishaps were had by the family. Which also included Bud, the family dog.
When Owen and Sherry retired, Owen was anxious to take her to the East Coast. He was so proud to show her where he came from and to show off his beautiful little village on the Bay of Chaleur.
Owen is survived by his loving wife Sherry, son Dylan (Michelle), daughter Michelle, grandchildren; Katie, Dominic, Mason, Sammy and Cassidy. And lovingly remembered by his sisters; Sharon (Bill), Lynda (Frank), many loving aunts, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and their families.
He was predeceased by his mother Theresa, father Weldon and brother Clarry.
Owen was a special man and a great friend to many, he was a dependable family man who loved being a dad and a grandpa. He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
