Walter was born on April 12, 1939 in McCreary, Manitoba to Abe and Mary Born of Matsqui, BC.
He resided in Mission BC, working as a Heavy Duty Mechanic for the District of Mission, until retirement.
He married Lorraine Schaufelberger (Forsberg) who had four children of her own. Walter was survived by his wife Lorraine Born, son Richard Born, Stepson Luke (Lara) Tracy, Bryce, Tammy (Jim). Walt was blessed with nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Walt held many titles in his life, but his favorite role was being a father and grandfather. He loved spending time wrenching and tinkering on projects such as, carpentry and mechanical things. Walt liked to be of service to his wife’s ideas. He was a visionary of piecing together the visions Lorraine had in her mind. As a child watching, learning, seeing the outcomes of his projects always gave him self satisfaction. Walt always wanted to please those he loved. Walt was a natural born teacher, he loved sharing his knowledge and valuable insight with anyone who had questions about what he was doing.
Walt will be greatly missed by those left to grieve.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.WoodlawnFH-Mission.com for the Born family.
