

Alicia G. Canchola Obituary Alicia Gloria Canchola, aka Licha, 63 years old, passed away in her sleep on March 3, 2016 in Northridge Ca. Licha suffered from a stroke in the year 2000 and was left disabled with aphasia. Even through this unfortunate disabling circumstance she lived happy. She lived her last 15 years with the love and devotion of her family. On November 29th 2015 she became ill and was hospitalized for a month. To complete her recovery she was placed in a nursing facility. She began to work hard to get better as she was eager to return to her home. Unfortunately the illness progressed and caused her to pass away on March 3, 2016. Alicia was the daughter of Mathew and Julia Canchola. She was born on September 7, 1952 in Hawthorne, CA. . . . She has a sister and brother in law, Becky and Don Ruiz and brothers, Henry Canchola and Frank Canchola, (Deceased). Her Niece and Nephews, Ana Robles, Mathew Ruiz, Frank Canchola Jr., Jennifer and Catrina Canchola. She had 1 Great Nephew, Nicholas Robles, and 6 Great Nieces, Juliana Ruiz, Priscilla and Natalie Canchola, Daniella and Viviana Ruiz. She loved them all. She attended Venice High School and graduated the summer of 1970. Her main occupation was working as a legal secretary for many years. Before her illness she loved working with baseball little leagues. She had many friends and associates who worked together to support the kids and watch them win their tournaments. She cheered them on for their achievements. As a child, it was her dream to be in a little league, therefore this filled her with joy. She will be remembered for loving animals, especially dogs. She had many doggies in her life. A few names are Chiquita, Mica, Oso, Paloma, and Blanca, but there were many more. She also had Cats and Parrots in her life. They made her happy. Services for Alicia will be at Mission Hills Catholic Mortuary, 11160 Stranwood Ave. Mission Hills, Ca 91345. March 8th the Viewing will be from 5 to 9pm in the Chapel. There will be a Rosary given at 6pm in the Chapel. Mass will be given on March 9th at 1pm in the Chapel. Reception will follow at Ana Robles home in North Hills. Directions will be given out after Mass.
