Ana Maria Guardado-Miranda had a long, yet beautiful journey. Blas and Carmen Guardado gave birth to Ana-Maria, August 7, 1935 in Zacatecas, Mexico. She was the first of twelve siblings. Ana-Maria took on the responsibility of caring for her siblings, as her parents worked long hours. As she grew in age, she too worked in the farms also providing for the family. In 1953, she and her family moved to the LA county to make a better living here in California. Beginning a new life in California did not change the fact that she remained with the responsibility of caring for her siblings. However, she did this without any grievance; the older sister role embodied who she was throughout her life. Ana’s main priority was to care for her family; she would usually refuse any invitations to attend to her responsibilities of being the oldest sibling. On February 23, 1963 she married David Miranda, after he spent a long duration persistently asking for her time and day. Even then she would take her siblings along with her on her outings. The year of marriage, she gave birth to her first child and followed by three more children. Her characteristics and values as the eldest sibling did not change as a mother; she was always nurturing, supportive and most importantly strong. She always made sure she was the best wife and mother for her family. In return, all four of her children respected and loved their mother; achieving many accomplishments. Her beautiful family grew larger now taking on the role as a grandmother to fourteen grandchildren. She continued her role, caring for her grandchildren, as her children worked to provide for their families. She was honored to be a great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren. Your true love and tireless devotion to your family will never go unnoticed. Ana-Maria exuded strength and the meaning of family to all her loved ones. Your love, wisdom and strength will never be forgotten; you will be missed.
