

Florence Santiago Millanponce Florence was a quiet woman who lived an ordinary life. She was special and kind to those who knew her. Florence's last actions were a display of love to her children and family. She often said, "I am so lucky to have a good family." Florence was grateful for the care and love she received. Florence was born in El Paso, Texas to parents Felisa Tibor and Jacinto Santiago. They moved to Los Angeles when she was seven years old. She loved school but quit in the eighth grade to help care for her mother. Florence and Armando were married for 60 plus years. They have lived in their San Fernando home since December 1955, where they raised their family. She was married to John Acogido Lamberte in 1942. They had three children: Mary Louise Loya, David John Lamberte, and Anita Andrea Peck (deceased). Florence loved music and dance. She played the ukelele on the front porch of her home in Los Angeles. Her sister Carolina would sing songs of the 40s. Armando and Florence loved to dance at Filipino club events, church dances, and any function where dance music was played. Mambo and Cha Cha were their favorites. They were happy to win a waltz contest at a church function. Florence was predeceased by sister, Carolina Bansuelo and brother, William Santiago. She leaves a sister Dolores, married to Louis Cruz and nonagenarian first cousins Lydia Armijo and Cuca Sierra. Her grandchildren, who called her granny or granny goose, are: Richard Heredia, Anita (Heredia) Espinoza, John Heredia, David Rodriguez, Karen (Rodriguez) Magdaleno, Stephanie Lamberte, David Lamberte, Nash Loya Jr, and Alex Loya (deceased). Florence had six great-grand children: Vincent Garcia, Vanessa Garcia, Nevaeh Lamberte, Gauge Loya, Erica Mendibles and Lindsey Mendibles. She also leaves many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be missed and fondly remembered.
