

Hermogenes Gaudioso Paje Rosauro, Jr., 92 years old, passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Magnolia Gardens Skilled Nursing Facility in Granada Hills, California. He was born on October 6, 1923 in Guinobatan, Albay, Philippines to Gaudioso Cerdon Rosauro, Sr. and Fortunata Paje. Hermogenes Gaudioso, fondly called as ‘Moning’, grew up in Guinobatan, Albay, Philippines. He graduated from Roxas Memorial Agricultural High School in the same town. After high school, he: attended college at Bicol University College of Agriculture in Guinobatan, Albay, Philippines where he received an Associate degree in Agriculture; attended college at Mapua Institue of Technology in Manila, Philippines where he received Bachelor degree in Radio Engineering; joined the Armed Forces of the Philippines and served in the telecommunications department. He served in World War II in the Philippines achieving the rank of 2nd Lieutenant; began work in 1950 and rose from the rank at the Bureau of Telecommunications in the Philippines. He retired as the Bureau’s Regional Director in the Bicol Region area after 30 years of service. Hermogenes Gaudioso married Regina Arambulo Mauricio on August 17, 1955 at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, Pasay City, Philippines. They were happily married for 60 glorious years. He enjoyed planting, loved to invent gadgets and found new/alternate purposes to items no longer used. He migrated to Los Angeles, California in 2006. He admired the Presidents of the United States and an avid fan of President Ronald Reagan. After he obtained his U.S.A. citizenship, it was his contention that it was his civic duty and responsibility to vote. He exemplified this eagerness by going to the polls at every election. He loved reading and his favorite materials are the Reader’s Digest and newspapers. He also received numerous awards and achievements while employed at the Bureau. Hermogenes Gaudioso was preceded in death by his parents, Gaudioso Sr. and Fortunata; his siblings, Salome, Orville, Melodio, Gary, Jesse and Helen. Hermogenes Gaudioso is survived by: his spouse, Regina of Chatsworth, California; his children and their spouses, Marjorie (Salvador) Alvarado of Alberta, Canada; Marlon (Maritess) Rosauro of Quezon City, Philippines; Shirley Rosauro-Shibazaki of Quezon City, Philippines; and Leila (Romano) Sy of Chatsworth, California; his siblings, Armenghol Reantaso of Canada, Norma Carreon of Canada, Marilyn Cormann of Canada, Wilbur (Evelyn) Rosauro of Canada and Marion Chan of Philippines; his grandchildren, John Kenneth, Joanna Kerrilyn, Jastine Anne Monique, John Michael, John Mark, Hannah Sheryl, Joshua Kevin and Nathan Gabriel; his great-grandchildren Yohan Cedrick and Yuriko Reign; and his nieces and nephews and other relatives. Vigils and visitations will be at Mission Hills Catholic Mortuary, 11160 Stranwood Avenue, Mission Hills, CA 91345 at 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm, December 9 and 10, 2015. A funeral mass will be held at the Mortuary’s chapel at 11:00 am, December 11, 2015, with Rev. Fr. Ramon G. Valera as celebrant.
