On Sunday, January 31, 2016, Manuel Lima, Sr. passed away peacefully with family by his side. Manuel was born in California and lived the majority of his life in the in the San Fernando Valley. He served his country, traveled the world and worked hard. Loyal to family, loyal to friends… he was strong willed and bull headed, he did things his way, and expressed his opinions whole-heartedly. In his field of work his reputation was practically legendary...very hard to live up to. At Earls Donuts in Chatsworth, he had become a fixture, and loyally went there every morning to hang out with his buddies, and "solve all the world's problems". He is survived by his brother Edward Lima, his children, Sherry Lima, Christina Salcido and Manuel Lima Jr,, 10 grand children and 3 great-grandchildren. He is remembered by some of us who were blessed in having him in our lives as Dad, others as Uncle Manuel, to his family it was Manuel, and to his friends it was Manny. To some of the kids growing up in our neighborhood he was Pops, and finally he was Grandpa and Great-Grandpa. Regardless of what we called him, we all loved and respected him, and we’ll greatly miss him. Safe Journey Dad, we love you.
