

Pacoima California- Maria Guadalupe Molina Garcia, 99, died Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at her home following a brief illness. She leaves her, daughters; Concepcion Vazquez, Margarita Quintanar and Magdalena Vazquez, Her son Juan Manuel Molina, 25 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grand-children; and many close friends. Born and raised in Zamora Michoacan Mexico, the daughter of Pascual Molina and Juana Garcia, she lived most of her life in this City. In her early years, she worked in the fields in the vicinity of Zamora Michoacan. She taught her self to read and write. Her children were borne in this city. In 1981, she moved to California were she lived out the remainder her life, taking care of her grand children, friends, and neighbors children. She was known as Ma Lupe for every one. Her nurturing character extended to her love of gardening. She was able to detail most of their names and their uses for remedies. She remained active well into her later years; walking to church, hiking el Paricutin (a volcano in Michoacan), and loved to travel. Some of her favorite songs were Mi Ranchito, Mi Carinito, and Amor Perdido, which she loved to sing at family gatherings. She passed along her strong work ethic to all her children. They learned from her that no matter what you decide to do in life, be the best, even if you are the barrendero of your city be the best barrendero there is.
A funeral service will be held May 30, 2015 at 9am Mission Hills Catholic Mortuary, Mission Hills CA. Followed burial.
