

Bernardino Garcia, AKA "Nino" of Mission, Texas passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 5, 2026 at the age of 85 in Mission, Texas. Born on October 27, 1940 in La Grulla, Texas. The son of Paulino Garcia and Wenceslada Solis.
Throughout Nino's life he found joy in the simple things-- he was a loving husband and father and enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren who meant the world to him. He enjoyed drinking coffee and eating his "pan dulce" at his favorite spot Rex Cafe and Bakery. He attended adult day care where he played bingo, danced and socialized with his fellow seniors. He loved playing his guitar and sixth bass. In his late years, he enjoyed eating a burger with his family. He was known for his kindness and immense patience.
Nino was a professional barber at Tatan Barber Shop. He took pride in being a barber. In 1985, he opened is own barber shop "Nino's Barber and Styling Shop" at his residence to care for his wife Elidia that was ill with cancer. After her passing he was employed for many years at Edinburg ISD and Sharyland ISD as a bus driver.
Nino is survived by his beloved son Bernardino Garcia Jr. (Yesenia) and his grandchildren Elydia Veronica Garcia , Bernardino Jesus Garcia and Luis Angel Garcia and many family members and friends.
Nino is preceded in death by his wife Elidia Garcia and his daughter Lydia Veronica Garcia.
We are grateful for the time we had with Nino and will cherish the memories we made together. May he rest in peace surrounded by love and light. He will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Nino's life with a viewing at Funeraria del Angel in Mission on Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 5pm to 9pm with a rosary at 7pm. Catholic Mass will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe at 10am followed by burial at 11am.
