Blanca was born to Guillermo and Consuelo Ochoa in 1957. As the oldest sibling, she served as example, support and guidance to her 8 siblings. She help nurture and guide every one of her nieces and nephews and later her great nieces and nephews. As the oldest sibling she served as guide and later guardian to our parents. She sacrificed willingly her time and energy so the family could rise to emotional and financial security.
After Blanca graduated top ten in her class from La Joya High School she went on to study Biology at University of Pan American where she first started working for ROTC as a work study. After graduating from Pan Am, she stayed on as an administrative assistant for ROTC for over 30 years where she helped matriculate several students to numerous armed forces.
Blanca was an avid crafter who enjoyed creating beautiful pieces to accentuate a home or bring a little more sparkle to an outfit or present. She came from humble beginnings where even simple decorations were a luxury so she took great pride in surrounding herself and those she loved with an extra touch of beauty. She continued this during her retirement by volunteering her time at the Mission Hospital Gift Shop where she created beautiful wreaths.
Blanca was predeceased by our loving father Guillermo Ochoa and two brothers, Oscar and Fernando Ochoa.
She is survived by by her mother Consuelo Ochoa; her siblings Guillermo(Norma) Ochoa, Maribel(Jose) Huerta, Marilu O.(Marco Antonio) Perez, Gloria Ochoa, Angel(Elizabeth) Ochoa and Melissa(Mike) Ochoa-Perez; and by 3 beloved generations of nieces and nephews.
Blanca was a devout Catholic who prayed daily with her best friend Vivian Ramirez. Although she will be missed, the family is grateful for the time we have shared with her and know that she is now in the presence of the Lord.
The family invites you to celebrate her life and encourages everyone to wear her favorite color, pink to the funeral.
