Cruz Emma Garza

McAllen - Our sister, aunt and beloved friend has lost her battle with cancer on June 25, 2015. She was born Maria Cruz Emma Garza to Leonides and Soledad Garza on May 3, 1936, in General Bravo, NL, Mexico. Cruz Emma cared not only for her parents but anyone else that needed her in one way or another. She made many friends throughout the years as she worked in Texas and in California, returning to Texas upon retiring. She enjoyed traveling and visited many parts of the world with friends and relatives.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her brother Leonides Garza (Gregoria) of Saratoga, IN, 13 nieces and nephews and their families as well as numerous cousins.

Special love and attention were showed on Cruz Emma by her loving nieces, Elena Alexander of Washington state and Becky Mery of McAllen, making Emma's last months on this earth much easier to bear.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Funeraria Del Angel in Mission from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, June 29, 2015 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in McAllen. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mission. Services are under the direction of Funeraria Del Angel of Mission.
