

McAllen- David Eden Garza, 56, entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at The Comfort House in McAllen, TX. He was born on June 27, 1959 to Jose Renato Garza, Sr. and Isabel Garza in Rio Grande City, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Homero A. Garza, Jose Renato Garza, Jr., and Flavio A. Garza.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lulu Salinas Garza; son, Adrian Garza, and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, uncles and aunts.
David Garza proudly served his country in the 3rd Marines 5th Division. He worked for the Pharr Fire Department, the Hidalgo County courthouse, Roma ISD, Donna ISD, and McAllen ISD until his retirement in 2008. He enjoyed visiting and spending time with his family. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. The Garza family would like to give a special thanks to Davita in Edinburg, The Comfort House in McAllen, Medex, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for the special care they provided for David. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from 5:00pm-9:00pm with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00pm in the Funeraria Del Angel Chapel. A Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 9:30am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in McAllen, TX. Burial with military honors will follow to Rio Grande State Veterans Cemetery in Mission, TX. Having the distinguished honors to serve as pallbearers will be Roel Salinas, Rene Salinas, Lupe Maldonado, Lesmar Cantu, Sr., Lesmar Cantu, Jr., and Willie Ramos. David’s son, Adrian Garza, will serve as honorary pallbearer. Funeral Services have been entrusted to Funeraria Del Angel of Mission.
